Jared and Krysta Watkins both grew up in ministry-focused homes. They both received Christ as their personal Saviour when they were young. As teenagers, they dedicated themselves to wait for the one spouse that God had designed just for them instead of dating around. They met at a youth conference that their churches attended at Lakewood Baptist Temple in 2007. In 2009, they were married.
As a teenager, Jared surrendered to God's call to be a church planter. He received some ministry training through his local church's Bible Institute (Bible Baptist Church's Integrity Institute - 2006-2010). During this time, he also headed up the church's soul-winning program, personally knocking on every door within a 20-mile radius. He has enjoyed serving in the ministry in various capacities including Sunday School Superintendent, Assistant Pastor, and most recently Associate Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Port Angeles, Washington. (2018-2022).
Now, the Watkins Family is preparing to plant a church in Los Molinos, California. Their sending pastor is Pastor Steve Harper at Grace Baptist Church in Cle Elum, Washington.
They have a family business (Watkins.Solutions) that provides for their family and ministry needs. Jared and Krysta have four boys: Enoch, Ezra, Ezekiel, and EdWord. When the family is not working in the ministry or business, they enjoy exploring God's Creation and finding new trails to explore (except MAYBE Lassen Trail...). They also enjoy finding new recipes to try, and playing games like Risk, Hand and Foot, Phase 10, and Monopoly.
